Gallery "Bonum Factum" with the support of the Swiss Cooperation Office of the Embassy of Switzerland in Uzbekistan announces an open call for figures of contemporary art in Uzbekistan.

Bonum Factum is a platform for the support and development of contemporary art in our region and beyond, whose activities are aimed at promoting young and talented artists. For more than 10 years of active work in the field of art, Bonum Factum Gallery, in addition to the usual function of a gallery, is a place where people of the creative profession constantly gather, discuss ideas, and implement them. The gallery has become a platform for the release of many young artists into the "big voyage". In fact, today -   the gallery in its concept performs the function of an ART HUB with five directions (Art Space, Art Factory, Art Explorer, Art Review, Art Market), where people of art and not only, creative ideas are emerging and experimental projects are being implemented, support is being provided to specialists in the field of art, a number of educational programs for children are being carried out, sustainability and creative industries are being sought, and what is important, this is all being made available to the general public. 

 

The purpose of the Art Space project.

 

One of the key activities of the gallery is the ART SPACE program. This is a field of activity that is an independent, creative platform that provides opportunities (place, consultations, training, financial support, network, advertising) for the implementation and implementation of creative ideas, projects, events of professionals and emerging professionals in the field of contemporary art. An interdisciplinary approach, between disciplines such as history, philosophy, geography, architecture, and the synthesis of areas such as visual, theatrical, musical, dance, performance art, design, graphics is the basis of this direction.

 

To date,  , the following events and exhibitions have been implemented as part of the Art Space project:

Self-identification 41'69 (Yekub Beknazarov, Sardor Erkinov); "Self-identification. Minamata Madonnas” (photographer Victor Ahn); "Square" (photographer Theodore Radu Pantea); “Art and technology. Pros and Cons” (9 unique projects by famous artists within the framework of the International Tashkent Biennale of Contemporary Art-2018); multimedia performance "The Amazing Wizard of the O'z Country";  "Biometric Passport. S-ID 41'69" (photographer Viktor An); “POP ART BUNKER” (illustrator-designer Eldos Fazylbekov, sculptors Daniil Lashmanov and Nosyrkhoja Fatkhullaev, photographer Kristina Krasnova); Billboard pop-art exhibition "Isolation-2020" (Fazylbekov Eldos, Aybusheva Amalia, Avazbek Abduraimov, Daniil Lashmanov, Zilola Kakhramonova, Mohira Mullyajanova, Okafor Ellada, Rustam Zakhidov, Riskiev Mukhiddin, Seviliya Akramova); “Ossuary for Texts and Dust” (Vyacheslav-Yura Useinov); POP-ART.UZ. 2020

In addition to the exhibition activities, an educational program was also implemented, within the framework of which V. Useinov's lectures “Fractal Realism and Verism”, a series of lectures by Alexei Ulko, Sukhrob Nazimov, Viktor An “Modern Art is” were held with great success; intensive from Sukhrob Nazimov "Art-Management"; creative meetings and master classes with international professionals (Saodat Ismoilova, National Geographic photographer John Stanmayer, choreographer Sashar Zarif).

Assistance and support from the Swiss Cooperation Office of the Embassy of Switzerland in Uzbekistan, provided to the gallery helped to discover the names of young talents, a new generation of artists of contemporary art in Uzbekistan.

On the basis of the gallery, exhibitions of works  of young and already mature representatives of the art scene of Uzbekistan were opened to the public.

 

Project objectives in 2022:

 

  • Creation of opportunities and conditions for creative self-expression, self-realization of young artists and promotion of contemporary art;

  • Formation of space for innovative activity;

  • Consolidation of creative potential (personnel and resources) from all over Uzbekistan, open to innovation, innovation, experimentation and with motivation for interaction and cooperation;

  • Improving cultural leisure by providing a wide variety of cultural products and works to the general public;

  • Attracting a larger audience to contemporary art through active interaction with the audience, the public.

 

The program provides:

 

The winner of the selection, selected by the Artistic College on the basis of applications, receives financial support (financial support will be provided ​​4 to the best participants in the amount of 8,000,000 UZS as a fee for materials ) to implement their own exhibition project in the space of the Bonum Factum gallery.

 

  • Accompaniment - the program coordinator, the manager will provide consulting and organizational support;

  • PR support - organization of online broadcasts, creative meetings, master classes, interviews and publications on the Internet and in the media

  • Certificate of participation in the project, as well as inclusion in the network of the gallery

 

   What is expected of the selected participant:

 

  • Presentation of ideas and art product in any convenient format (painting, graphics, digital graphics, video art, installation, photo);

  • Implementation of a full-fledged exhibition project in the gallery space within the agreed time frame;

  • Submission of one original work to the fund of the Bonum Factum Gallery.

 

Who can become a member of the project?

 

  • Young artists, curators, creative individuals offering projects in contemporary art

  • Girls are especially welcome

  • Age: Young people from 20 to 35 years old are invited

 

Terms of participation and cooperation.

 

Selection

 

The selection is carried out by an expert council, based on the submitted documents in the application, which takes into account the availability of potential, the novelty of the idea, and motivation to participate.

Based on the results of the selection, all applicants will be informed of the decision by e-mail.  Selected applicants will be invited for further participation and cooperation.

Small grants will be given to young artists.

Age limit: 20-35 years old.

A total of 4 best participants will be selected.

The grant amount is 8,000,000 soums.

 

 

 

When choosing an exhibition project, attention will be paid to the following:

 

  • Compliance with the concept  of the project on a given topic of the ART SPACE BFG 2022 project

  • Justification in the application and how the portfolio is presented;

  • Proposed idea (relevance, innovation, creativity, timing);

  • Preference is given to projects that involve interaction with the local context and community, and especially women's initiatives;

  • Age from 20 to 35 years

  • submit resume (PDF format)

  • portfolio of works for the last 2-3 years

  • description of the exhibition project that the applicant plans to implement in the gallery space (the costs for implementation must also be indicated)

The above package of documents must be sent to the email address vkartfact@gmail.com with a note in the title of the letter “Art Space BFG” before the deadline. Applications with an incomplete package and later than the deadline will not be considered. Recommendations are welcome.
